About the wine
José María Prieto- vigneron in Régoa C.B.- gets the most out of its vineyards exceptional conditions in the heart of Amandi area. Eleven hectares of terraced crops on a southfacing 80% slope meet River Sil at its bottom.
These conditions, together with soil quality (well drained, chalky and sandy) and suitable climate make up the necessary "terroir" that develops a splendid wine.
Grapes are harvested according to its phenolic maturation. Then they are fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12 months in a 5000 Litre 3-year-old French oak cask.
Deep red hue with a purple-blue rim.
Shy nose at first. Best left open for at least 30 minutes before drinking.
Blackberry, cinnamon, lead, and fennel scents. Growing honey scent at last.
Remarkable balance on the palate combining power, warmth and freshness. Go od acidity, astringent and young tannins. A wine showcasing fruit and spice aromas. A crunchy wine due to its fresh vintage. Will improve over the next five years.
Great pairing with rice & rabbit, meat pie or grilled steak.
